Joyce Shelton is a contemporary artist living and working in central Florida. Having spent most of her career as a professional illustrator and product designer, she has now turned her focus towards fine art painting in a variety of mediums. Inspired by nature and the Florida landscape, her color palette reflects the rich pinks, purples and oranges of tropical foliage and the calming blues of coastal waters.
She began her career as a full time illustrator for a major department store illustrating fashion and home goods for newspaper ads. When photography replaced illustration, she found success as a full time free-lance illustrator for local and national companies, agencies and publications. At this time she also perfected a monotype printing technique which she exhibited at juried fine art shows throughout Florida. She continues to maintain a professional art career licensing her art and designing products for the gift and home industry while painting full time in her home studio.
