Priscilla Coote is known for painting water, especially the water’s edge. A lifelong artist, she paints primarily in oils and gouache. She enjoys working en plein air and studying the changing light among times of day and parts of the world. A twenty-plus-year resident of the Florida Keys, she has just begun to spend summers in rural coastal Maine, where she is learning to paint an entirely different environment.
Priscilla uses her plein air studies as a basis for large studio oils, which can be seen at Gallery on Greene in Key West, where she is currently having a solo exhibition. She is also represented by galleries in Nantucket, Williamsburg, West Palm and Ormond Beach. Priscilla has recently been featured in Southwest Art, Fine Art Connoisseur and Sail magazines, and has had paintings shown on Netflix’ Bloodline and an episode of HGTV’s Island Hunters. She is a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists.
