Tom Sadler has dedicated his artistic effort towards capturing the light, color, and mood of the central Florida landscape since he moved to Orlando in 1983. The intense light, combined with the natural beauty of the many lakes, rivers and parks provide a never-ending source of inspiration. His paintings come to life as a celebration of this beauty found in nature, sometimes exuberant, and other times more subtle. Tom received his BFA at Auburn University and also attended the School of Visual Arts in New York. He works mainly in oils because of their inherent versatility and permanence, alternating between very transparent and very opaque color. His glazing techniques imbue his work with an unmistakable sense of light. This depiction of light becomes the main subject in most of Sadler’s works.
